Chianti Classico Wine Day
Two estates, one long lunch, and no one driving home worried.

Chianti is close, so we are among the vines within the hour. The point of this day is simple: taste properly at two estates without anyone having to count their glasses or watch the clock to drive back.
The first stop is a small family cellar where you meet the people who actually make the wine. After a slow lunch — usually on a terrace looking over the rows — we visit a larger historic estate for a more structured tasting.
Between stops we take the back roads through Castellina, Radda and Gaiole, and I pull over wherever it is worth a photo. If you want to buy a case, it rides home in the boot, not on your lap.
